PLAYER ONE
Software engineer building playful, useful things for the web
I build web software end to end — the schema, the API, the interface, and the uncomfortable bits in between.
Most of my work sits where correctness meets feel: systems that have to be right, wrapped in interfaces that have to be pleasant. I care a lot about the seam between those two, because that is usually where products go wrong.
Lately I have been writing about databases, interface motion, and the things on-call teaches you that no design document ever will.
What I am good at
- Designing data models that survive contact with real usage
- Making interfaces feel physical rather than mechanical
- Operating what I build, and writing down what broke
